Dance Theatre of Oregon (DTO) was formed in 1991 by New York artists Marc Siegel and Pamela Lehan-Siegel and is known for its daring, exuberant, entertaining and intriguing brand of dance theater, packed with emotion and humor for audience of all ages. DTO is a resident company of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Oregon. Ms. Lehan-Siegel danced with David Parsons and Mr. Siegel with Le Ballet Trockadero. They have worked at Yale University, New York University, Jose Limon School and Alvin Ailey School and for dance companies in New Jersey, Mississippi, the Northwest, British Columbia, California and Nevada.
DTO will continue in the coming year to perform in venues all across British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and California. They have also performed their one hour assembly/school performance in the Northwest and British Columbia and over ninety times in the past nine years in Oregon. DTO and its Artistic Directors have received several awards for their commitment and ground breaking work with educating youth and working with "at risk" youth in the public schools and for their Project Educate program giving free tickets to under served audiences.
The success of DTO comes from their "in demand" touring packages, their beautiful home in the Hult Center and the world class work which has premiered over the last 17 years with their connection to world class New York choreographers. The exciting school shows and residencies they perform adhere to the highest standards of entertainment, education and artistry with inclusion on the roster of Young Audience of Oregon and SW Washington and Lane Arts Council's Youth Arts programs.
Dance Theatre of Oregon continues its growth with an expanding Board of Directors, management for performing internationally (Prince/SF), increased individual, corporate and foundation support and their commitment to the highest quality internationally acclaimed world class dance theater.
